چکیده
The cobamide coenzymes’ are unstable in the presence of alkaline cyanide. This decomposition by cyanide has been envisaged as a nucleophilic displacement reaction which gives rise to dicyanocobalamin, adenine, and the cyanohydrins of 2,3dihydroxy-A4-pentenal (1, 2). In the case of the simple alkylcobalamins, cyanide decomposition proceeds very slowly or not at all, presumably because the alkyl carbanion is a poor leaving group (2). However, Hogenkamp, Rush, and Swenson (3) recently reported that alkylcobalamins, which contain cyanoethyl and methoxycarbonylethyl functions, are readily decomposed by

Cobalt-Catalyzed Cross-Coupling Reactions of Aryl Halides
Transition metal-catalyzed C–C cross-coupling reactions are among the most powerful transformations known to organic chemists, and have received considerable attention over the last decades. For this reason, the development of mild chemo-, regio-, and stereoselective syntheses for the formation of carbon–carbon bonds catalyzed by metal complexes is of great interest. These methods have had a pr...

The potential of carbon nanotubes (CNT) supported cobalt catalysts for Fischer-Tropsch (FT) reaction is shown. Using the wet impregnation method cobalt on carbon nanotubes catalysts were prepared with cobalt loading varying from 15 to 45 wt. %. The catalysts are characterized by different methods including: BET physisorption, X-ray diffraction, hydrogen chemisorption, and temperature-progra...
متن کاملRecent advances in the chemistry of vitamin B 12 and vitamin B 12 model compounds: reductive cobalt-carbon bond cleavage reactions.
The cobalt—carbon bond in alkylcobaloximes and in alkylcobalt derivatives of related chelates is reductively cleaved by thiols in mildly acidic medium, or by carbon monoxide, dithionite and stannite in alkaline solution. The reductants interact initially by trans attack of the cobalt atom, followed by the rate-determining cleavage of the Co—C bond. Cobalt-bound methyl groups are converted into ...
متن کاملVoltammetric Detection of Dopamine and Ascorbic Acid Using a Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes/Schiff Base Complex of Cobalt-Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode
The surface of the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) is modified with the composite of new Cobalt complex with a tetradentate Schiff base ligand derived from 3-ethoxysalicylaldehyde and 4,5-dimethyl orthophenylenediamine (CoOEtSal) and multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT). The electrochemical oxidation of ascorbic acid (AA) and dopamine (DA) at the modified electrode was studied using the cyclic an...

The redox behavior cobalt chloride was studied voltammetrically in presence and absence of L- Carrageenan (LK) natural polymer using glassy carbon electrodes in 0.1 M KCl supporting electrode. Scan rates are studied for the redox behaviors for CoCl2 alone or in presence of L- Carrageenan (LK) natural polymer. Stability constants for the interaction of cobalt ions with L - Carageenan (LK) natura...
